The Caitlin Clark Reading Team
A Caitlin Clark Foundation x Scholastic U.S. Readers Program Collaboration
Books Have the Power to Change a Life
Through our collaboration with Scholastic and its literacy program, The United States of Readers (USoR), the Caitlin Clark Foundation is helping open doors for children to learn, grow, and thrive, one page at a time. This national literacy pilot collaboration reflects our Education pillar in action, meeting students where they are and giving them the confidence and encouragement to see themselves as readers.
Because when kids feel supported, their futures are changed forever.
Our Mission in Action:
The United States of Readers places books directly into classrooms, in the schools that need them most. Instead of just receiving a book, children can experience the joy of reading through subjects that interest them. Together, we’re helping generate excitement around reading.
During the Spring 2026 United States of Readers cycle, more than 26,000 students across schools nationwide will be invited to join a shared national reading moment and receive:
-
Fully funded classroom book boxes
-
Caitlin Clark Foundation bookmarks
Students are encouraged to:
-
Select two books that interest them
-
Reflect on why they chose those books
-
Connect with teachers, classmates, friends, and family about their books
-
Share their story through writing or drawing
Participation is designed to be accessible, requiring no additional curriculum and minimal lift for teachers. Students can participate at school or at home, creating space for engaged reading in a real-life setting.
Helping Kids Say, “I Am a Reader”
We want to encourage kids that reading is not just a fun pastime. It’s also a rewarding experience that benefits them even when they become adults: building confidence, sparking joy, and cultivating curiosity. This is why Caitlin’s voice and values are woven throughout the program–to remind kids that effort matters and that showing up counts.
Looking Ahead
This collaboration marks the beginning of a pilot program that can expand across future reading cycles, back-to-school moments, and new learning environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who does this program serve?
The Spring 2026 launch reaches 56 schools that need it the most across the United States, impacting approximately 26,500 students. The program is designed to scale across future reading cycles and additional school communities.
What makes this program different from a traditional book donation?
This pilot collaboration goes beyond access. By pairing book distribution with student reflection and participation, the program helps children build confidence and see themselves as readers. It transforms receiving a book into a moment of curiosity and excitement. We want kids to have books, and be excited to read them!
How do students participate?
Students receive a Caitlin Clark Foundation bookmark alongside their books, inviting them to reflect on their selections. They can then submit a short written response about their book selections. Participation is designed to be simple and flexible for teachers and students.
Is participation required for schools?
No. Participation is optional and designed to fit naturally into existing classroom routines, without any additional curriculum or instructional burden on educators. Schools, classrooms, and individual students alike are invited to take part in a shared reading experience and join a broader community of readers.
