The Caitlin Clark Reading Team

A Caitlin Clark Foundation x Scholastic U.S. Readers Program Collaboration

Books Have the Power to Change a Life

Through our collaboration with The United States of Readers (USoR), a literacy program from Scholastic, the Caitlin Clark Foundation is helping open doors for children to learn, grow, and thrive, one page at a time. This national literacy initiative reflects our Education pillar in action, meeting students where they are and giving them the confidence and encouragement to see themselves as readers.

Because when kids feel supported, their futures are changed forever.

EDUCATION

Our Mission in Action:

The United States of Readers places books directly into classrooms, in the schools that need them the most. Instead of just receiving a book, children can experience the joy of reading through subjects that interest them. Together, we’re helping generate excitement around reading.

A Simple Invitation With Lasting Impact

Participation is designed to be accessible, requiring no additional curriculum and minimal lift for teachers. Students can participate at school or at home, creating space for engaged reading in a real-life setting.

Helping Kids Say, “I Am a Reader”

We want to encourage kids that reading is not just a fun pastime, it’s also a rewarding experience that benefits them even when they become adults. This is why Caitlin’s voice and values are woven throughout the program–to remind kids that effort matters and that showing up counts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who does this program serve?

The Spring 2026 launch reaches 56 schools that need it the most across the United States, impacting approximately 26,500 students. The program is designed to scale across future reading cycles and additional school communities.

What makes this program different from a traditional book donation?

This initiative goes beyond access. By pairing book distribution with student reflection and participation, the program helps children build confidence and see themselves as readers. It transforms receiving a book into a moment of ownership and identity. We want kids to have books, and be excited to read them!

How do students participate?

Students receive a Caitlin Clark Foundation bookmark inviting them to reflect on the books they choose. They can submit a short response through writing, drawing, or video, either in the classroom or at home. Participation is designed to be simple and flexible for teachers and students.

Is participation required for schools?

No. Participation is optional and designed to fit naturally into existing classroom routines. There is no additional curriculum requirement or instructional burden placed on educators.

Can members of the press access images or additional materials?

Press inquiries, media assets, and interview requests can be submitted through the Foundation’s contact form. The team will respond as availability allows.
